The high-precision slitter rewinder & laminator for specialty foams and films. The Crest WSL is custom-built for tension-sensitive converters executing complex single-pass and multi-pass laminating workflows. By integrating pneumatic circular slitting, specialized loop-controlled center winding, and an advanced inline lamination station, it manages slitting, rewinding and lamination with minimal material deformation or telescoping.

One platform — dual-pass workflow
The WSL is engineered to execute the full flexo backing production cycle in two efficient passes on a single footprint, eliminating the need for multiple machines.

Process — PASS 1: Foam activation & adhesive coating
The raw specialty foam is unwound, passed through the Corona Treatment Unit to microscopically activate its surface, then laminated with a high-tack adhesive layer under precise nip pressure to guarantee a strong bond.

Process — PASS 2: Plastic backing application
The adhesive-laminated foam from Pass 1 is reintroduced to the line; the machine applies the plastic backing (Corona switched off) and the pneumatic circular knives slit the final laminate to exact customer widths while maintaining roll integrity.
